Overview
Located just outside of Seattle, Washington, Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) was founded in 1949, and is the only public institute of technology in the state. LWTech offers eight applied bachelor’s degrees, and 43 associate degrees, including STEM-focused programs in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
Our graduates are ready to go out into the workforce with the latest industry skills, and/or ready to transfer to one of LWTech’s applied bachelor degree programs or to another university. Graduation isn’t the end; it’s the beginning. Whatever your educational goals are, we are here to help you.

Intensive English Program
The Intensive English Program (IEP) is designed to provide a solid foundation in the English language and the skills necessary to be successful in college and university courses.
• Five levels of English language training with beginning, intermediate and Bridge.
• 20 hours of reading, writing, listening and speaking, and grammar in beginning and intermediate levels.
• IEP level 5 (Bridge) links courses in Accelerated English, IEP College Transition, and another college level course.

Housing

International students have many options for housing around LWTech based on your personal needs and lifestyle. Housing options include homestay, shared housing, or apartments.
Activities
The surrounding area offers numerous outdoor recreational opportunities and a wealth of diverse arts, entertainment and cultural attractions. Kirkland is located a few miles east of Seattle, and about an hour away from skiing/snowboarding in the Cascade mountains. There are also many student clubs including International, Game Development, and Software Development.

• Applicant must be at least 16 years old by program start date
